Abstract: Potable water is one of the vital necessities for the survival of newlinehuman beings. Wastewater reclamation, recycling and reuse are very much newlineessential to meet out the water requirements for industrial, agricultural, newlinedomestic and commercial activities due to the increased population and newlinedevelopment in many parts of the world at a large. The chemicals used to newlineproduce dyes in these days are often highly toxic, carcinogenic, or even newlineexplosive. Industrial wastewater largely possess organic and inorganic newlinematerials such as phenols, aromatic compounds, dyes and heavy metals, newlinewhich are, often, disposed off untreated, leading to a consequential decline in newlinethe quality of natural water in the ecosystem. Dyes are an imperative class of newlinesynthetic organic colouring compounds used in the textile, leather, paper, newlinecosmetic and food industries. They are strong coloured compounds which newlineoften create environmental and aesthetic problems. Thus, the colour removal newlinefrom the textile wastewater has become an issue of interest. In the textile industry, dyeing process generates a large volume of wastewater containing most unreacted coloured dye stuffs. The presence of newlineeven a small amount of dye in water is highly visible and affects the water newlinetransparency and the gas solubility of water bodies.Various treatment processes have been employed for its removalnfrom aqueous solution. Over the past decades, Advanced Oxidation Processes newline(AOPs) have been proved to be more effective for the removal of toxic and newlineorganic pollutants. Among Advanced Oxidation Processes (AOPs), Fenton newlineprocess offers the cost effective source of hydroxyl radicals and it is easily be newlineoperated and maintained. Also, AOPs are powerful environmental friendly newlinevi technologies involving chemical, photocatalytic, photochemical, newlineelectrochemical and photo electrochemical methods in which hydroxyl radical newline(°OH) is produced in situ as the main oxidant newline newline
