Abstract: Metal matrix composites are widely applied in the automotive and aircraft structural components. The mechanical and corrosion properties of hybrid aluminium 2024 metal matrix composites are influenced by 5% 10% 15% and 20% of TiC and B4C In this reinforcement composition an equal amount of TiC and B4C is considered The increase in volume fraction of B4C and TiC particle in matrix alloy increases the hardness yield strength ultimate strength and decreases the ductility of the composite SEM images have been taken for the microstructure of the composites with particles having a different volume percentage of reinforcement shows the uniform distribution of B4C and TiC particles The ceramic particles addition has proved that improved corrosion resistance in AMMCs Abrasive waterjet machining is most economic and effective non-traditional machining process for machine aluminium metal matrix composites The machining characteristics such as surface roughness kerf angle and metal removal rate were investigated with respect to water jet pressure jet traverse speed and standoff distance Increase in water jet pressure reduces the kerf angle and surface roughness Higher jet traverse speed and standoff distance increase the kerf angle and surface roughness Material removal rate increases with increasing water jet pressure traverse speed and standoff distance newline
