Abstract: newline newlineABSTRACT newlineEnhancement of science and technology paves way for emerging new branches newlineof knowledge. Information explosion has paved the way to seek information in a variety newlineand multiplicity at different levels. Engineering colleges Libraries are keeping not only newlineprint materials but also various forms of e-resources. Information seeking behaviour is newlineone of the important areas in user studies, which are influencing in the designing of new newlineworldwide web sites. As the volume of indexable web pages are increasing day by day, newlinethe coverage of search engines is also increasing. With the increasing demand of newlineInternet users, the search engines provide various facilities with the search strategies. newlineThe aim of the research is to analyse the use of internet search engines and related newlineissues among the students and faculty of engineering colleges. Objectives of the study newlineare to know the users ICT experiences, searching capabilities and strategies of search newlineengines. This study is to find out the searching capabilities on web resource users of newlinevarious engineering colleges in Trichy region, Tamilnadu, India. Twenty Four newlineEngineering colleges were selected randomly for this study. A survey method was used newlinefor the collection of data. A well structured questionnaire was prepared for collection of newlinedata for the proposed research. Data collections were made from students and the newlinefaculties of engineering colleges to formulate a study of searching web resources and newlinesatisfaction. Collected data were structured into frequency distribution, Simple newlinepercentage score, ANOVA test, Chi-square test, Rank technique and cross tabulation newlinetest using SPSS software version 20.0. Thus, the primary and secondary data and their newlinepractical study will help to reach the conclusion. Based on the findings, newlinerecommendations were made towards for improving the searching capabilities on web newlineresources in engineering college libraries.
