|Abstract:||The consensus among climate scientists is clear that man-made greenhouse gases are leading to dangerous climate change. Rise in the CO2 level on the earth impacts the human life to a great level. It has been researched that nonstop burning of fossil fuels is major reason for increasing emissions of CO2 in the atmosphere. It is accepted that economic development has direct link with consumption of energy, mainly electrical energy, which is predominantly obtained by burning fossil fuel. newlineFor developed economies the transition to a low carbon economy will involve major changes to the way we supply and use energy.Hence ways of using energy more effectively and generating electricity without the production of CO2 must be found. Transforming our electricity system lies at the heart of these changes. It can be achieved by smarter grid, which gives a better understanding of variations in power generation and demand, and allows us to use that information in a dynamic and interactiveway to get more out of the system. newlineThe smart grid refers to a way of operating the power system using communication technology, power electronic technologies and storage technologies to balance production and consumption at all levels. Thesmartgridconceptcombinesanumberoftechnologies,end-usersolutionsandaddresses anumberofpolicyandregulatorydrivers. For its planning and the organization smart grid is divided in to seven domains viz. generation, transmission, distribution, customer, operation, market and service provider. newline newline|
