Abstract: newline ABSTRACT newlineThe current study was conducted in five schools and five colleges in Jharkhand, India. newlineThe aim of the study was to explore the extent to which human resource management newline(HRM) practices related to the educational institution performance indicators. newline413 employees responded to a 48 HRM practice instrument measuring the level of newlineimportance their organization attached to HRM. Six HRM factors were extracted from newlineanalyzing these items. newlineThe values of performance indicators were derived from objective data obtained from the newline10 educational institutions. These data include number of average number of admission newlineforms sold against per seat per year at the entry level of the school (AFS). newlineA number of statistically significant bivariate relationships were identified. Employee age newlinewas found to have the highest number of relationships with HRM practices. newlineAt both levels of analysis, a number of consistent patterns of relationship were identified newlinebetween HRM practices and institution performance indicators. HRM practices relevant newlineto rewards and recognition were found to have the highest number of associations with newlineinstitutional performance indicators. newlineFuture research focusing on the relationship between HRM and performance is suggested newlinein a larger number of educational institutions. Discovering Employee age was found to newlinehave the highest number of relationships with HRM practices is suggested as a future newlineHRM research topic.
