Abstract: As per the latest cancer statistics, the global mortality rate of cancer may increase to 11 million by 2030[1]. On an average more than 1,50,000 women die of cancer every year[2].Since Breast cancer is a progressive disease which is known to evolve through stages of cellular dedifferentiation and growth, the time at which breast cancer is detected is crucial . The earlier the breast cancer detected, the higher are the chances of survival[3]. newlineMammography based assessment of breast cancer is one of the most prominent approach for the diagnosis of the breast cancer. newline
