Abstract: Discoveries in fundamental and applied research in biological sciences has lead newlineto the evolution of biotech industry. It has emerged as an interdisciplinary subject newlinecovering chemistry, biochemistry, microbiology, molecular biology, genetics, newlineimmunology, tissue culture, physiology and engineering. Biotechnology is expected to newlinesolve food problem, improves environment, eliminates disease, resulting in a healthy and prosperous society. The researcher with biology background has felt that a study on the topic Entrepreneurial Support Systems for the Development and Sustenance of the newlineBiotech Industry at the Genome Valley , would add value to the society in general and newlinethe biotech industry in particular. newline The literature review suggested that the biotech industry is at a nascent stage all newlineover the world and the researchers are exploring the linkages between biotech companies, government and the R and D institution situated around the biotech clusters. Biotechnology is a knowledge based industry and establishment of appropriate newlineenvironment can solve the social requirements and also add to the economic prosperity of newlinethe nations. Similar to other countries, the State Government of Andhra Pradesh is also newlineencouraging the biotech industry through infrastructural support, incentives and newlinegovernment policies to encourage the entrepreneurs to this sector. newline
