Abstract: quotIntroduction: Rural Residential Free school at Suttur, was selected to describe longitudinal Craniofacial growth changes. newlineAims: To evaluate, lateral cephalometric craniofacial changes between 7 to 14 years of age and to evaluate possible differences between the genders. newlineMaterials and Methods: Two cohorts of children aged 7 years (Younger Children) and 11 years (Older Children) -10 male and 10 female children were selected. Cephalograms were taken and observations made in beginning and annually thereafter for three years. 31 angular and linear measurements were analyzed. newlineResults: There was a linear increase in SNA and SNB from 7-10 years and was significant. ANB, A-NPog, A:ss-n-pg there was linear decrease from 7 - 10 years. Linear increase in SNA, SNB and s-n-pg in older children of 11-14 years was seen. Linear decrease in ANB, A-N-Pog, A:ss-n-Pg from 11-14 years was observed. Mean Basal Vertical measurements PFH, PFH/AFH, Jaw relation and N: Ans, there was a linear increase in measurement from 7-10 years. Mean values of Jaw relation, Maxillary Inclination and Mandibular Inclination decreased from 7-10 years. Mean basal vertical measurements of PFH, PFH/AFH, and N:Ans there was linear increase from 11-14 years which was highly significant. Maxillary Inclination, Jaw Angle and Mandibular Inclination a linear decrease from 11-14 years was seen which was highly significant. Mean value of Go-Co, Co-Gn increased over years and was significant in older children. Mean Dental measurements of variables U1-NA, U1-NL, U1-Protrusion, U1-Inclination, L1-Inclination highly significant change over years for Younger children was seen. Whereas L1-Inclination and U1-L1 suggested a highly significant change over years for older children. newlineConclusion : Longitudinal Craniofacial growth changes seen in this study is very useful data of Craniofacial changes of Rural Residential School children of Suttur, but needs to be done on a larger sample. newlinequot newline
